page¶
rejoin or flip the framebuffer pages
NAME
page - rejoin or flip the framebuffer pages
SYNOPSIS
page [sync|flip]
DESCRIPTION
The display has two framebuffer pages (stage 8b double buffering).
With no argument (or `sync`) the draw page REJOINS the display page
-- the recovery move when a program died mid-flip and left them
split, which looks like a frozen screen that ignores drawing. With
`flip` the pages swap the other way: what was just drawn becomes
visible and drawing moves to the hidden page -- the manual
double-buffer step (draw, flip, draw, flip). Flips land at the
panel's frame boundary, tear-free. Needs the GL engine (the page
verbs are graphics-language opcodes since stage 10b: FLIP=2,
PGSYNC=3, poked at the $FF50 command FIFO).
EXAMPLES
page screen ignoring your drawing? this fixes it
page flip show the hidden page you just drew
