NAME
    wc - count lines, words, and bytes

SYNOPSIS
    wc [file | glob]

DESCRIPTION
    Prints three counts -- lines, words, bytes -- for a file, for the
    combined content of a glob, or for standard input. Lines are counted
    by newline (LF); words are whitespace-delimited runs. Counts are 24-bit
    (files may be up to 16 MB). wc is a /bin program.

EXAMPLES
    wc T.TXT             "L W B" for one file
    wc *.log             combined counts over matches
    cat T.TXT | wc       count a pipe
