cp

copy files and directory trees

NAME
cp - copy files and directory trees

SYNOPSIS
    cp src dst
    cp -r src dst
    cp glob dir

DESCRIPTION
Copies a file, a directory tree, or every glob match. A file is
copied byte for byte to dst. If the source is a glob (* or ?), each
match is copied INTO dst, which must be an existing directory (each
lands at dst/basename). Copies work across the /d1 mount. cp is a
    /bin program.

OPTIONS
-r copy a directory and its contents recursively

LIMITS
    With -r, copies at most 8 levels deep and 24 entries per level;
anything beyond is silently skipped, so a deep tree copies
incompletely without an error. Names are held in 12-byte slots,
    matching the on-disk name field.

EXAMPLES
cp OLD.TXT NEW.TXT copy one file
cp -r SRC DST copy a subtree
    cp -r /d1/SRC /SRC copy across the drive-1 mount
cp *.asm /bak copy each match into a directory
